BORN IN CANANDAIGUA. BUILT FOR THE FINGER LAKES.
Working Class Coffee started in Canandaigua, NY with a simple idea: make damn good coffee, serve good food, and create the kind of place people actually want to come back to.
Since then, we've expanded to Geneva and started roasting our own coffee right here in the Finger Lakes. We've grown, but what matters to us hasn't changed—quality, consistency, hard work, and taking care of the people who walk through our doors.
Whether you're headed to work, meeting a friend, or just stopping in for your morning coffee, there's a spot for you here.
Good coffee. No fluff. No pretension.
Come in. Fuel up. Get to it.
IT STARTED IN CANANDAIGUA
In 2022, Working Class Coffee opened its doors at 243 Gorham Street in Canandaigua. And honestly, we couldn't have picked a more fitting place to start. Our first café sits inside Factory 243—the former Lisk Manufacturing site. What was once an industrial manufacturing complex became home to a coffee shop called Working Class. We like that. From the beginning, we wanted to build a neighborhood café that took what it served seriously without taking itself too seriously. Coffee worth going out of your way for. Food made with some thought behind it. Seasonal specials that keep things interesting. And a place where the person behind the counter might actually know your name. Canandaigua is where Working Class started. It's still home.THEN WE HEADED EAST
In 2025, we opened our second Working Class Coffee in downtown Geneva. Geneva felt right for the same reason Canandaigua did: it has personality. We wanted the Geneva café to feel like a neighborhood place from day one—not simply a copy of our first shop. A place for the morning regular. The college student. The person grabbing breakfast before work. The table catching up over coffee. The person behind the counter who already knows what you're ordering. Different town. Different building. Same Working Class.
THEN WE STARTED ROASTING OUR OWN
For the first year, we were on the café side of coffee. Eventually, we wanted to get closer to the beginning of the process. So we started roasting. Today, Working Class Coffee is roasted by us in small batches right here in the Finger Lakes using our Bellwether coffee roaster. Small-batch roasting gives us control over what ends up in your cup. We can choose coffees we're excited about, develop our own roast profiles, experiment with unusual single origins, and create dependable blends that taste the way we think coffee should taste. Some of our coffees are bright, fruity and a little weird. Some are chocolatey, dark and familiar. We think there's room for both. Because at the end of the day, we roast coffee for people who actually drink coffee.
